A lightweight Mac application designed for network monitoring in ISPs. It listens for UDP messages from servers and uses text-to-speech to alert staff of network issues. Log IP addresses and messages. Servers can send messages using netcat. Select different voices and control message queues and UDP port. It's a handy tool for quick auditory alerts on network status.

Squawker is a small application I wrote for use in the Network Operations Centre of an ISP where I once worked.
It does not require very much resource from the Macintosh, and will happily run on an older (PPC or Intel) otherwise unused machine.
The program listens on a UDP port for messages from various servers on the network.
